Effective Date: August 24, 2026
Last Updated: August 24, 2026
Version: v1.0
1. Purpose of This Page
This page is published by Everbundance ("we", "us") pursuant to Article 43, Paragraphs 3 and 4 of Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the "APPI"), and describes the anonymously processed information and statistical information that we create and provide in connection with "CapsuleHunt" (the "Service").
It supplements Sections 10.2 and 10.3 of our Privacy Policy and should be read together with it.
Current status
As of the publication of this page, we do not provide any anonymously processed information to third parties.
Before beginning any such provision, we will publish on this page the items of information to be provided and the method of provision.
2. Terminology
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Statistical information | Information aggregated across multiple users such that any correspondence with a specific individual is lost. It is neither personal information nor anonymously processed information (e.g., "X% of users are in their twenties") |
| Anonymously processed information | As defined in Article 2, Paragraph 6 of the APPI: information processed so that a specific individual cannot be identified and the original personal information cannot be restored |
Only the above may be provided to third parties. We do not provide personal data that can identify a specific individual to third parties without that person's consent (Privacy Policy, Section 10.1).
3. Categories of Information Contained in the Anonymously Processed Information We Create
Pursuant to Article 43, Paragraph 3 of the APPI, we publish the items contained in the anonymously processed information we create.
3.1 Attributes
| Item | Content | Processing method |
|---|---|---|
| Age band | Under 20 / 20s / 30s / 40s / 50 and over | Rounded from date of birth; the date of birth itself is not included |
| Region of residence | Prefecture | No information more granular than prefecture is included |
| Gender | The category the user optionally reported | Not included where no answer was given |
3.2 Preferences
| Item | Content | Processing method |
|---|---|---|
| Preferred genres, titles, and motifs | Categories the user optionally selected | Only the predefined categories are used; free text is not included |
| Purchase frequency | Survey answer categories | Not included where no answer was given |
| Budget range | Survey answer categories | Not included where no answer was given |
3.3 Behavior
| Item | Content | Processing method |
|---|---|---|
| Search keyword trends | Searched terms and their counts | Only aggregate counts per term are used |
| Viewed product trends | View counts per product | Only aggregate counts per product are used |
| Inventory report and favorite trends | Counts per action type | Only aggregate counts per action are used |
3.4 Items Never Included
The following are never included in either anonymously processed information or statistical information.
- Names (we do not collect them in the first place)
- Email addresses, including a parent's email address
- The date of birth itself (it is rounded to an age band before use)
- Display names, user IDs, referral codes
- IP addresses, User-Agent strings, device identifiers
- GPS coordinates (we do not store them in our database at all; Privacy Policy, Section 7.2)
- Posted photographs themselves
4. Processing and Security Measures
- Removal of identifiers: Descriptions that can identify a specific individual, such as user IDs, display names, and email addresses, are removed.
- Generalization: Dates of birth are rounded to age bands, and address information is rounded to the prefecture level.
- Suppression of small segments (k-anonymity): For each aggregate category, any category with fewer than five matching users is not output, so that individuals cannot be inferred from small combinations. A larger threshold may be used depending on the purpose of provision.
- Access control: The database views that perform aggregation and processing cannot be read by ordinary users (browser or app connections); only our administrative credentials can read them.
- Prohibition on re-identification: In handling anonymously processed information, we do not collate it with other information for the purpose of identifying the individual to whom the original personal information relates (APPI, Article 43, Paragraph 5).
- Obligations imposed on recipients: Where anonymously processed information is provided to a third party, we contractually require the recipient not to collate it for the purpose of identifying an individual.
5. Items and Method of Provision to Third Parties
Pursuant to Article 43, Paragraph 4 of the APPI, we will publish the following in advance of any provision.
| Disclosure | Current content |
|---|---|
| Items of information provided | No provision has taken place. When provision begins, we will state which of the items in Section 3 are actually provided |
| Method of provision | No provision has taken place. When provision begins, we will state the specific method, such as delivery of aggregate reports or transfer of data files |
When providing such information, we will expressly notify the recipient that it is anonymously processed information.
6. Recipients
The recipients we anticipate for anonymously processed information and statistical information are businesses that plan, manufacture, or sell capsule toys, and businesses that conduct market research for them (Privacy Policy, Section 4(8) and Section 10.2).
Contracts with recipients provide for the following.
- Express notice that the information provided is anonymously processed information
- A prohibition on collating the information with other information to identify an individual
- Representations and covenants regarding the exclusion of anti-social forces
- Restrictions on use beyond the stated purpose and on onward provision
7. Changes to These Disclosures
If the content of our creation or provision of anonymously processed information changes, we will update this page. Material changes will be notified in accordance with the procedure in Section 12 of the Privacy Policy.
